All Saints' Day in Lipnica
All Saints' Day in Jabłonka

By far the most beautiful time to be in Poland. This was the sixth time I experienced All Saints' Day "po Polsku" ("in Polish"), and the wonder was as intense as the first time, back in 1996.The same things still amaze me about the day: the calming quiet of the cemetery punctuated by the popping of candles and the occasional cracking of too-hot glass; the amount of light generated by candles; the waxy smell that attaches itself to your clothes as you wonder among the graves.

This year, most of the pictures are from the cemetery in Jabłonka, where I experienced an All Saints' Day first: a clearly visible moon. I took some of my best ASD pictures there.

The pictures from Lipnica technically weren't taken All Saints' Day, but rather the next day: All Souls' Day. Same idea, more souls on the line.
