Enough About You: Adventures in Autobiography kingary.net
"matching tracksuits and everything"

I borrowed this book from a friend who, at the time, was working for the Boston Globe and had access to books that had been submitted for Globe reviews.

This is a self-absorbed bunch of nonsense, which seems to have been written to do three things.

  1. Show that he's read a lot of books, because he gives plot summaries of more books than I care to think about. In fact, the book could be summarized as "a collection of plot summaries," but that would be too generous.
  2. Show that he's in tune with pop culture, for he goes to some length with a literary analysis of an Adam Sandler song.
  3. Let him appear cool about his sexual past — "I've licked a girl's asshole. Come on, hasn't everybody?" That kind of fake modesty.

It was a horrid book and I feel I wasted my time reading it.
